Who can use Rovana

You can use Rovana if you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into a contract, and have been approved as a member through our application process. Rovana is not available to:

• Anyone under 18
• Anyone whose account we’ve previously terminated for cause
• Anyone using a false identity or impersonating another person
• Anyone in a jurisdiction where Rovana is prohibited

Your account

Your account is for you, personally, and is not transferable. You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in information secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, email hello@rovana.app immediately.

You agree to provide accurate information during application and to update it if it materially changes (your name, your home city, your photo). If you mislead us about who you are, we may terminate your account.

What you can post

You can post:

• Profile information you’ve created about yourself
• Photos of yourself
• Messages to other members
• Trip declarations

You’re responsible for everything you post. By posting, you confirm you have the right to do so.

You grant Rovana a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and transmit your content as needed to operate the service. We don’t claim ownership of your content. We don’t use your content to train AI models for any external purpose.

What you can't do

You agree not to use Rovana to:

• Harass, threaten, abuse, or stalk any other person
• Send sexually explicit content, especially to anyone who hasn’t requested it
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Solicit money, business deals, MLM recruitment, or commercial transactions of any kind
• Collect or scrape data about other members
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, scripts) to interact with Rovana
• Circumvent technical protections (rate limits, blocks, content filtering)
• Engage in illegal activity or facilitate it through Rovana
• Promote violence, discrimination, or hateful conduct
• Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code

If you violate these rules, we may issue a warning, suspend your account, or terminate your account. Severe violations result in immediate termination without warning.

Reports and safety

If another member’s behavior concerns you, report them through the in-app report flow. Reports go to Rovana’s curator for review. Critical reports (harassment, safety) are reviewed within 4 hours during business hours; standard reports within 48 hours. We may take action including warnings, suspension, or removal based on the review.

If you’re reported and suspended or removed, you can appeal via a tokenized link sent to your email at the time of removal. Appeals are reviewed by Rovana’s curator within 14 days.

Member-to-member meetings

Rovana introduces people. We don’t supervise what happens after. Meeting another member in real life is your decision and your responsibility. Apply common sense — meet in public, tell a friend where you’re going, trust your judgment about whether someone seems safe. Rovana doesn’t conduct background checks beyond identity verification, and we make no representations about any specific member’s character, behavior, or trustworthiness.

If something happens during or after a meeting that you want us to know about, file a report. We’ll take it seriously.

Curator decisions

Rovana is curated. Rovana’s curator reviews every application and decides who’s admitted. The curator also reviews proposed introductions before they surface to members. These decisions are not appealable in the legal sense — they’re editorial judgments about who fits the community. We try to make them well, but we won’t always agree on borderline cases.

If you’re declined, waitlisted, or removed, the decision rationale is internal. We’re happy to discuss generally what we look for, but we don’t share specific reasoning about other people.

Fees

Rovana is currently free during the initial launch period. We may introduce paid tiers in the future. If we do, we’ll notify you 30 days in advance and you’ll have the option to continue, downgrade, or close your account before any charge applies.

Intellectual property

The Rovana name, brand, software, design, content (excluding member-generated content), and all related intellectual property belong to Rovana, Inc. You don’t acquire any rights to these by using the service. The license you grant us in your content (covered above) is solely for operating the service.

If you believe content on Rovana infringes your copyright, send a DMCA notice to legal@rovana.app with the standard required information (identification of the work, identification of the infringing material, your contact information, statement of good faith belief, statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury, your signature).

Privacy

Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy at rovana.app/privacy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

Termination

You can close your account at any time through Settings → “Delete my account.” We retain some data after closure as described in the Privacy Policy.

We can terminate your account at any time for cause (violation of these terms, harm to other members, legal compulsion). We can also terminate without cause with 30 days’ notice. If we terminate without cause, we’ll provide a data export before the termination takes effect.

After termination, the obligations that by their nature survive (intellectual property, indemnification, limitation of liability, dispute resolution) continue to apply.

Disclaimers

Rovana is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties beyond what the law requires. Specifically, we don’t warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Specific introductions will lead to friendships, romance, business relationships, or any specific outcome
• Other members are who they say they are beyond our verification process
• The service will meet your expectations

Some jurisdictions don’t allow disclaimer of implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, our disclaimers apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rovana, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Damages arising from your interactions with other members, whether online or in person
• Damages from service interruptions or technical failures
• Damages from unauthorized access to your account that wasn’t caused by Rovana’s gross negligence

Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you’ve paid Rovana in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 (USD), whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations. Where they don’t apply, our liability is limited to the maximum extent the law permits.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rovana from claims arising out of your use of the service, your content, your interactions with other members, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights. This obligation survives termination of your account.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

For any dispute that can’t be resolved by direct discussion: you and Rovana agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith mediation. If mediation fails after 60 days, disputes are resolved by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Delaware. You waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in class actions, except where prohibited by law.

EU and UK residents: nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer protection rights. You may bring claims in the courts of your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we update the “Last updated” date and notify members of material changes via email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms. If a change materially reduces your rights and you don’t agree, your remedy is to close your account before the change takes effect.
